In true southern fashion, we hold the experience of a “snow day” synonymous with “photo opportunity”…on the eve of yet another winter weather event I thought I would share some fun moments from the one we had two weeks ago.
Of course, it is beautiful, other worldly quiet, and a rare enough event to still excite the whole family…but getting out in the white stuff to play held a little more significance for me this time.
Kimberly, while less sensitive than most to heat, is certainly more sensitive than others to cold. Because of this she rarely enjoys a winter day outside when the temperatures are below 45…I did my best to bundle her up well and we headed out the door.
I don’t know if it’s a maturity issue, the desire to play overwhelming her discomfort, or what the reason was; but this time was different. She had a blast! I struggled to keep up with her as she wanted to sled with sister, be pulled around by daddy, and of course the obligatory snow angels were to be made!
A redesign of children’s mittens is in order…the damn things will NOT stay on…but other than that I can say I had no complaints ;-).
I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we enjoyed the day.
